July updates

It's been a busy month so far. It started off with Taylor turning 16 and for her birthday I took her to Melbourne for a couple of days of retail therpy. We had a great time and got a lot of shopping in. On return from Melbourne Taylor ventured off to motor registration to get her L's and now she is wanting to drive any chance she gets.

Football season is coming to an end....well the minor round is. Brandon will play finals for Tea Tree Gully 18's and they need to win the first final to stay in the hunt. He has been playing well in recent weeks. He gave us a bit of a scare last Sunday as we feared he had fractured his jaw, but thankfully x-rays at this stage have ruled this out and it appears he has strained the ligaments on the left hand side of his jaw. He is only able to eat soft foods as it still is painful to chew. Hamish's team is sitting on top of the ladder and will definately play finals and should finish the minor round on top as they are 3 games clear of the two teams in second spot.

Taylor has commenced certificate 3 in retail through bakers delight and on completeion of this course the points she gaisn can go towards her 200 points required for the SACE.

Craig has returned to work after 3 1/2 months of long service leave....and no he did not complete all the jobs that he wanted to....but he did have a good rest from work.

Scrapping has been a bit on the back burner in the last couple of months. But I managed to complete all the challenges at the recent CC at Chook Scraps. The theme was Harry Potter.

This layout of Hamish was for challenge #3 which was a sketch designed by Lorraine. The photo was taken of Hamish when he played mini league earlier this year.

This layout was for challenge #2 and the criteria was
use a proper nun in the title (Harry Potter's name is always used in the title)
some stars to represent the magic in Harry Potter's books
some purple as it is often connected to magic

Challenge #4 was the card challenge and I choose to use the colours of Slytherin....using only green and silver
Challenge #1 was a spell and the spell criteria was
one of cardstock, two of paper'
three of ribbon and use a stapler
add some stamping and some bling
and some flowers and some inking
hubba, bubba, cut and paste
mix and stir, then finish post haste.
Yes our cat Milo does rule our house...she has such a tough life...NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are after some inspiration for scrapping why not check out the non sketch challenges or the sketch challenges or you may like to check out the card challenge at Chook scraps.
